Degree Conferral Dates
Brandeis University degrees are conferred three times a year: Aug. 31, Feb. 1 and each May on the day of commencement.
How Your Name Will Appear
Students are encouraged to log into Workday and enter a diploma name when they apply to graduate. The diploma name in Workday is the name that will be printed on your diploma. Between March 12 and May 31, 2023, you will not be able to change your diploma name in Workday. For any name changes, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
When You Will Receive Your Diploma
Brandeis University diplomas measure 12 inches by 9 1/2 inches and are landscape in orientation.
Any student with outstanding obligations to Brandeis University will not receive their official diploma until those obligations have been met. For information on how to resolve a financial hold, please contact the Office of Student Financial Services.
For additional information on commencement, please visit the Commencement website.
If You Don't Receive Your Diploma at Commencement
If you did not receive your diploma commencement weekend, then you most likely fall into one of the categories below.
- You graduated in August or February, and your diploma was already mailed to you.
- You have a hold on your record, and your diploma cannot be released until you resolve the hold.
- The Latin honors printed on your diploma (cum laude, magna cum laude, summa cum laude) have changed, and your diploma needs to be reordered to reflect that change. Diploma reorders will be mailed directly to your degree address. It can take up to six weeks to receive your diploma by mail, and an email will be sent to your Brandeis email address when the diploma ships.
