Brandeis University degrees are conferred three times a year: Aug. 31, Feb. 1 and each May on the day of commencement.
Students are encouraged to log into Sage and enter a degree name when they apply to graduate. The degree name in Sage is the name that will be printed on your diploma. If you do not create a degree name type in Sage, then your primary name will appear on your diploma.
Brandeis University diplomas measure 12 inches by 9 1/2 inches and are landscape in orientation.
Any student with outstanding obligations to Brandeis University will not receive their official diploma until those obligations have been met. For information on how to resolve a financial hold, please contact the Office of Student Financial Services.
For additional information on commencement, please visit the Office of Conference and Events website.
If you did not receive your diploma at one of the diploma ceremonies at commencement, then you most likely fall into one of the categories below.
- You graduated in August or February and your diploma was already mailed to you.
- You have a hold on your record, and your diploma cannot be released until you resolve the hold.
- The Latin honors printed on your diploma (cum laude, magna cum laude, summa cum laude) have changed, and your diploma needs to be reordered to reflect that change. Diploma reorders will be mailed directly to your degree address. It can take up to six weeks to receive your diploma by mail, and an email will be sent to your Brandeis email address when the diploma ships.
- You did not attend the diploma ceremony where you asked us to hold your diploma. Diplomas not picked up at commencement will be available for pick-up at the registrar's office (Kutz 121) during regular business on the day after commencement. A photo ID is required for diploma pick-up. Any diplomas not picked up will be mailed to the degree address listed in Sage.
