Hi! My name is Christie (she/her), and I’m excited to be part of the Brandeis community. I immigrated to Massachusetts from the Cabo Verde Islands at a young age and have grown up here ever since. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Portuguese Studies and Women & Gender Studies from UMass Dartmouth.
I’ve always been passionate about working with people. During my undergraduate years, I served as a Resident Assistant and Orientation Leader and participated in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. After graduating, I returned to UMass Dartmouth as a Resident Director.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, trying new experiences, and being outdoors. I love walking on trails or near the water, exploring new foods, and traveling. As an island girl, I’m happiest at the beach or anywhere near the ocean. Recently, I’ve also been getting into staying active and reading good books.
