Master of Arts in Ancient Greek and Roman Studies
A two-track master’s degree offering a hands-on exploration of classical civilizations or in depth study of Ancient Greek and Roman language and literature.
The Brandeis Master’s degree in Ancient Greek and Roman Studies is a one-year program offering two tracks of study.
The first track prepares students for elite Ph.D. programs, with rigorous instruction in Ancient Greek and Latin languages.
The second track involves interdisciplinary study that covers many aspects of classical civilization. This track has no language requirement and is well-suited for students interested in elementary and secondary school education. Students also participate in excavations in Italy and Greece, enjoy summer study on Italy's Bay of Naples, and conduct research in Brandeis' Classical Artifact Research Collection.
Why Brandeis?
““The AGRS Master’s program at Brandeis University has allowed [me] the opportunity to pursue [my] interests further, and [I] hope to continue [my] academic and archaeological investigation of the ancient Mediterranean world following graduation.””
