Join the Brandeis Undergraduate Library Council!

The Undergraduate Library Council advises Brandeis Library staff on our services, resources, communications, and facilities. The council aims to build a library community by connecting librarians with students, to ensure that the library is both relevant and useful to Brandeis undergraduate students.

Members also assist with promoting library services and activities. In previous years, the Undergraduate Library Council has helped get filtered water bottle filling stations and bike desks for the library, and has provided advice on library hours, the library website, and other library initiatives.

We are currently accepting applications!

Membership & Meetings

The Brandeis Undergraduate Library Council has 10-15 student members. It is chaired by Jen Giordano, User Experience Librarian, with assistance from other library staff.

Meetings are held monthly and for Spring 2022, they will be held in hybrid format, so members can attend meetings in the Library or via Zoom. Specific dates and times will be decided based on members’ schedules.  (Pre-pandemic, we provided lunch at our meetings, but obviously, we can't do that these days!)

How to Apply

Any enrolled Brandeis undergraduate is welcome to apply by filling out the Brandeis Undergraduate Library Council Application FormApply by February 10, 2022, to be invited to our next meeting!

In selecting members, we aim for a committee that represents the diverse academic interests, experiences, and social identities of the Brandeis undergraduate population, including those who have been underrepresented in higher education.
