• Passport (Valid for at least 6 months into the future)

• Form I-20
  • Currently enrolled students must have a Form I-20 with a valid travel signature (Not more than 12 months old)
  • Students authorized for OPT/STEM OPT must have a Form I-20 with a valid travel signature (Not more than 6 months old)*
  • If your travel signature has expired, you can request a new travel signature by submitting a "Travel Signature Request" in the ISSO portal.
• Valid F-1 entry visa (Not applicable for Canadian Citizens.) See the visa renewal section of our website if needed.

*Students authorized for OPT/STEM OPT are strongly encouraged to bring their EAD and proof of employment (such as a recent letter confirming continued employment, up to three pay stubs, I-797 approval notice, etc.) Present these supplemental documents when required.

Students authorized for Academic Training (AT) are strongly encouraged to have proof of current employment (such as a recent letter confirming continued employment, up to three pay stubs, etc). Present these supplemental documents when required.

J-1 Scholars are strongly encouraged to have a copy of their current letter of appointment from Brandeis, their I-797 approval notice, and up to three recent paystubs.

• Valid H-1B Entry Visa
• Original Notice of Approval (Form I-797) for H-1B 

H-1B scholars are strongly encouraged to bring a copy of the entire H-1B application filed by Brandeis and proof of employment (recent letter confirming continued employment, current letter of appointment, up to three paystubs, etc.) Present these supplemental documents when required.
