Notice of Filing of Application for Permanent Employment Certification - Data Analyst
Notice is hereby provided that Brandeis University intends to file an Application for Permanent Employment Certification with the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration, Office of Foreign Labor Certification, 200 Constitution Avenue NW, Room N– 5311, Washington, DC 20210 for the position of Data Analyst.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Support the updating, development, and maintenance of the project's data infrastructure, especially the Child Opportunity Index (COI), National Equity Research Database (NERD), and Redlining Database, and support research and the development of knowledge products using these data;
  • Review data sources for timely and consistent annual updates, compile documentation;
  • Write R scripts to clean and harmonize data from multiple sources, including spatial data management, merging data, cleaning data, harmonizing data, data visualization, data aggregation, etc.;
  • Developing methods to interpolate, forecast and impute missing data;
  • Support research projects using our data assets by performing descriptive and multivariate analyses;
  • Document/annotate data management processes, and compile metadata for data products.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field such as Statistics or a social sciences field with a quantitative focus such as Economics.  1+ year of experience in statistics, econometrics, quantitative research methods, and coding skills.  May substitute 2 years of undergraduate or graduate-level coursework in quantitative and programming-focused areas.

Special Requirements: 1 year of experience for each: experience with a coding language (R or Python); practical experience in data management, visualization, and analysis; experience with commonly used libraries for data management, visualization, and multivariate and predictive modeling in the R or Python programming environments; advanced coursework in statistics, econometrics, or quantitative research methods.
*May substitute two years of undergraduate or graduate-level quantitative and programming-focused coursework in these related areas.

Notice of Filing of Application for Permanent Employment Certification - Assistant Athletic Trainer

Notice is hereby provided that Brandeis University intends to file an Application for Permanent Employment Certification with the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration, Office of Foreign Labor Certification, 200 Constitution Avenue NW, Room N– 5311, Washington, DC 20210 for the position of Assistant Athletic Trainer.

Assistant Athletic Trainer sought by Brandeis University (Waltham, MA).

JOB DUTIES

  1. Provides onsite care and management of varsity student-athletes' injuries and illnesses including prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation.
  2. Provides coverage for varsity athletics contests and practices, both at home and requiring travel, as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer.
  3. Communicates with physicians and coaching staff regarding the injury status of varsity student-athletes.
  4. Maintains appropriate medical records, including pre-participation physicals, injury and rehabilitation documentation, outreach clearance forms, and insurance information.
  5. Assists in the daily maintenance of the athletic training room.
  6. Supervises interns and student staff.
  7. Completes administrative and other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer.
  8. As a member of the sports medicine staff, onsite care and management of injuries and illnesses for 375 varsity student-athletes.
  9. As a member of the sports medicine staff, supervise 5-8 student staff. As a member of the sports medicine staff, complete the pre-participation screening procedures for 375 varsity student-athletes.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in athletic training, plus 1 year of experience as a certified athletic trainer (graduate clinical experience would be acceptable to satisfy 1 year)

  • NATA BOC (National Athletic Training Association Board of Certification) National Certification;
  • Licensed Athletic Trainer in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (or eligible);
  • Basic Life Support CPR, AED Certification

*experience may be gained concurrently.

** Work schedule M-F 1:00 pm - 9:00 pm, some nights and weekends. Incidental travel to sports games.
