When students first arrive on campus, they’re eagerly welcomed by the Brandeis community.  When they’re ready to cross the graduation stage, another enthusiastic welcome awaits them from the world of work. This animated greeting was similar for the Class of 2022 whose post-graduation triumphs were spurred on by their time at Brandeis.

One factor in graduates’ success is the Hiatt Career Center as students who’ve met with Hiatt are 2x more likely to be employed within six months of graduation.

Zak Pavlovich"Utilize the Hiatt Career Center early on in your Brandeis career,” said Zak Pavlovich ‘22 who now works as an Associate Consultant for Capgemini Invent. Zak is just one example of the Brandeis graduates who’ve used Hiatt’s help to propel them to success in the job market.

This comes as no surprise, as Brandeis graduates consistently achieve higher success rates than graduates from peer institutions. On average, 15% of graduates nationwide are still searching for jobs six months after graduation compared to only 4% of Brandeis graduates.

Joy Chang '22Joy Chang ‘22—who is currently studying English Teaching at Columbia University—told her fellow undergraduates to “take advantage of Hiatt as much as you can. Everyone is super friendly!”

The Class of 2022 saw 98% of graduates employed, attending graduate school, or engaged in other meaningful activities six months after graduation. With a 62% response rate, this data from Hiatt’s Beyond Brandeis survey is the university’s only centralized employment data collection with all reported data confirmed by the student, employer, or graduate school.

Group photo of the Hiatt Career Center staff (taken Fall 2022)“I’m always so impressed by our graduates and the roles they take on after Brandeis,” said Director of the Hiatt Career Center Jon Schlesinger.
“Our team works to create opportunities for recruiting, networking, and education, and seeing that students are twice as likely to be employed having met with us, underscores the importance of career services for students."

Hiatt’s influence isn’t a new trend. This impact is from a culmination of responses by undergraduates since 2020. All reported their employment status within six months of their graduation, averaging a 64% response rate.
