Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships
Summer undergraduate research fellowships were first awarded in 2012. Each student receives a stipend of $6,000 to support their participation in undergraduate research for the summer. Projects are usually ongoing in the laboratory and typically result in a senior honor thesis.
The fellowships, awarded through an annual competitive process, are supported by gifts primarily from Brandeis alumni. Starting in 2023, a gift from the Cele H. & William B. Rubin Family Fund have supported fellows working at Brandeis.
Students present their work at SciFest, our annual poster session showcasing the of undergraduates doing science all over the campus.
The 2025 Summer Research Fellowship (SURF) application is now open. The deadline is February 12, 2025. Fellowship offers will be extended in early March.
Applications are now closed.
