Workday Initiatives Advisory Committee
The Workday Initiatives Advisory Committee (WIC) provides oversight, direction, and prioritization of Workday initiatives, setting the vision of how Workday can provide significant impact the campus community of faculty, students, and staff in the next several years. These may include the purchase and implementation of Workday modules not part of our current implementation; configuration of modules licensed by Brandeis but not currently configured; optimization of business processes and configuration adjustments to yield user experience improvements or other efficiencies. The WIC provides recommendations to the Executive Sponsors regarding Workday strategic initiatives and their relative priorities.
WIC membership includes senior leaders from academic and administrative offices. The committee initially meets every two weeks until a Workday Roadmap recommendation for the Executive Sponsors has been developed.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze potential Workday initiatives with regards to their scope, impact, costs, dependencies, risks, and level of effort. Overarching goals of initiatives include but are not limited to those that:
- Reduce manual processes and reliance on paper, which will enable greater self-service functionality and improve security and efficiency
- Reduce unnecessary external systems
- Better utilize Workday tools for analyses and projections
- Conduct prioritized business process optimization projects
- Explore and implement additional modules (already owned and new/evolving) that will bring measurable community benefits
- Discuss and agree upon a prioritization method to score potential initiatives.
- Use the prioritization scorecard to develop an initial scoring of Workday initiatives. Iterate until the committee reaches consensus on recommended priorities to be delivered to the Executive Sponsors.
- As the initial set of prioritized initiatives are underway, evaluate new project proposals when applicable, guide decision-making needed for in-flight projects as escalated by the project team, review/update priorities for current and planned projects if university priorities change.
- Assist in informing the broader campus community of approved Workday initiatives, and provide positive voices in championing Workday’s use.
