COVID-19 Resources

As we continue to navigate this uncertain time, we want to reaffirm that our dedication to your well being and success remain strong. To this end Academic Services will begin the return to normal operations during the Fall 2021 semester.  The office will be open Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.  We are requiring masks and a passport check upon entry to our lobby.

Please keep visiting this site and follow our social media outlets for department updates. We are available via phone at 781-736-3470 and email. For specific information about our support and advising programs review the information below for each of our units.  For ongoing updates about campus services, changes in academic policy, schedules, and campus operations please continue to refer to the Brandeis Coronavirus/COVID-19 website.

Appointments


The Academic Services Office is available Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. EDT. There will be a staff member in the lobby during business hours.  Alternately, you can reach us by phone at 781-736-3470 or email. Appointments may be in person or via Zoom and vary by staff member.  Please pay attention to this when you are booking.  You may also email the staff member you wish to connect with directly.  See below for unit specifics regarding scheduling.

Academic Advising

30 minute advising appointments are available through youcanbook.me, our online scheduling calendar. Please note: appointments may be in person or via Zoom or phone.  Please note this when booking.  Advisors schedules for these appointments will open up after September 13th.

20 minute same-day advising appointments:  Daily 20 minute appointments will be available for the Fall 2021 semester beginning on Thursday, August 26th.  At this time all 20-minute appointments will take place via phone or Zoom.  Students can select available appointments through the Academic Advising Drop-in Calendar. In the pop-up box, please fill in the following fields:

Description [what would you like to talk about?]

Notes for Students on Drop Ins:
  • Appointments are on a first come, first served basis.
  • Every advisor is not available every day. Students do NOT need to meet with their assigned advisor.
  • Appointments will be phone or Zoom as indicated by students.
  • Please check the time zone settings on your google calendar. All meetings will take place in EST.
  • Students may book only one (1) drop in slot per day.
  • If you cannot make your appointment please call the office at 781-736-3470 so that the slot can be used for another student in need of one.

Community Therapy

Academic Services serves as a site for community therapist Roxann Mascoll.  Community therapy is a function of the Brandeis Counseling Center.  "Driven by the counseling center’s mission and inspired by Brandeis’ value of community transformation, BCC Community Therapists provide free, confidential mental health services at several locations around campus. Community Therapists can offer strategies to strengthen life and coping skills, insight and support, as well as information and connection to additional resources."   The attached PDF contains information about other therapy groups, workshops, and discussions. Pre-Health Advising

Pre-Health Advising has phone/zoom appointments available Monday through Friday. Students should schedule using our online scheduler. Zoom drop ins are Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. EST and 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. EDT during the academic year. There is a zoom link on the Pre-Health Advising website. Drop-ins will not be time based, just first come first-served. We will have a variety of virtual workshops and seminars this fall. Please visit our website for more information, including events, course planning guides, and frequently asked questions. To stay up to date, please join our listserv!

Roosevelt Fellows

Roosevelt Fellows are junior and senior peer academic advisors who offer an informed and accessible perspective on academics at Brandeis. They are a resource for all undergraduates with a special focus on new students. Profiles, contact information, and office hour schedule for the 2021-22 team are available on the Roosevelt Fellows website. Weekly office hours for fall 2021 will begin TBD.  Follow the Rosie's on Facebook and Instagram for up to date information.

Student Accessibility Support

To schedule appointments with an Accessibility Specialist, please call the Academic Services main phone line at 781-736-3470. SAS will continue to operate between 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Mondays through Fridays. Inquiries received outside of this time-frame will be responded to as promptly as possible (generally within 24 - 48 business hours). If you have any questions, please reach out to access@brandeis.edu.

Student Support Services Program

The Student Support Services Program (SSSP) is offering all of its program services remotely at this time. This includes, but is not limited to advising, events, and tutoring for program participants. To contact SSSP, please reach out to SSSP@brandeis.edu, or contact your assigned SSSP advisor.  To schedule an appointment with your SSSP advisor, please use the calendar links below and include your preferred method of communication in the event comments/notes:

Forms

If you need a form signed by an advisor, please email it directly to them or to acserv@brandeis.edu and we will distribute it to the appropriate staff person. This includes but is not limited to fellowship applications, OPT forms, and college reports.  Most forms have been converted to fillable PDFs at this time.
