Timeline for Semester or Year Programs Abroad
During sophomore year (going abroad as a junior) or junior year (going abroad during fall of senior year)

- Open study abroad applications by meeting with study abroad staff.
- Start researching and applying for scholarships.
- Some Academic Year/Fall programs have deadline in early January; plan ahead for these deadlines (examples: Oxford University, King's College London, Waseda University).
- Complete Brandeis study abroad application.
- Meet with study abroad faculty liaisons.
- If applying for fall/academic year, also complete your program external application.
- Application deadline for all programs.
- Study abroad decisions released.
- All: Confirm with Brandeis intention to study abroad.
- Fall/Academic Year students: Receive admissions decision by study abroad program.
- Fall/Academic Year students: Pay any program deposits.
- Fall/Academic Year students: Apply for visas if necessary.
- Fall/Academic Year students: Watch for information about pre-departure orientation.
- For Fall/Academic Year students: Depart for programs, transition, attend orientation, submit course confirmation form to Office of Study Abroad.
- For Fall/Academic Year students: First fall programs end in November.
- For Spring students: Complete program application by Sept 1.
- For Spring students: Confirm with Brandeis intentions to study abroad in the spring and acceptance into abroad program around mid-October.
- For Spring students: Watch for information about pre-departure orientations.
- For Spring students: Apply for visas, as necessary.
- For Fall students: Most programs end in December.
- For Fall students: Transition back to home country.
- For Fall students: Complete Abroad101.com evaluation, Experiential Learning Questionnaire (if applicable), and have official transcript sent to Office of Study Abroad.
- For Spring students: Some programs begin in December.
- For Spring students: Spring semester bills from Brandeis and study abroad programs are due.
- For Fall students: Attend re-entry orientation.
- For Spring students: Most programs start; students submit course forms to Office of Study Abroad.
- For Fall students: Students complete Abroad101.com evaluation.
- For Fall students: Transfer of credit completed.
- For Fall students: Students able to submit Online Petition to Request Substitution for a Requirement for major/minor requirements or core requirements for classes from abroad.
- For Spring students: Programs continue to depart and students submit course confirmation forms.
- For Spring and Academic Year students: Most programs end.
- For Spring and Academic Year students: Students complete Abroad101.com evaluation.
- For Spring and Academic Year students: Transfer of credit completed.
- For Spring and Academic Year students: Students are able to submit Online Petition to Request Substitution for a Requirement for major/minor requirements or core requirements for classes from abroad.

- Confirm with Brandeis intentions to study abroad.
- Attend pre-departure workshop.
- Brandeis-Run programs — Attend "Meet & Greet" and pre-departure workshops (mandatory).
- First programs start; attend program orientation.
- Pay off-campus study fee to Brandeis.
- First programs end; transition back home.
- All programs have ended.
- Complete Abroad101.com evaluation, Experiential Learning Questionnaire (if applicable) and send official transcript to Office of Study Abroad.
- All credit transferred.
- Attend re-entry meeting.
- Brandeis-Run programs — Complete program evaluation.
