Brandeis in San Juan offers students the opportunity to spend the summer advancing their scientific skills and global perspective through hands-on lab research in chemistry and biology conducted in English at the University of Puerto Rico. Under the mentorship of leading principal investigators and researchers, you’ll gain direct experience with cutting-edge experimental techniques while contributing to meaningful projects in a dynamic, collaborative environment. Beyond the lab, you’ll immerse yourself in Puerto Rico’s vibrant culture and natural beauty—an inspiring backdrop for scientific discovery and personal growth. This program offers Brandeis students the chance to deepen their research expertise, build professional connections, and experience how science thrives in diverse global contexts.

This unique academic program is designed exclusively for Brandeis students and offers 8 credits over the course of the 8-week program. Cultural activities and excursions will supplement the academic and research experience on the program.

All students will also take a brief Spanish language course.
