Outside the Classroom

At Brandeis, community engagement and service isn't just theoretical - it informs the lives we live on campus and in the city of Waltham. All students on this track will join one of the clubs affiliated with the Waltham Group, which serves the diverse needs of the city of Waltham, Massachusetts.  Club opportunities include:

Students will also have the opportunity to attend lectures on political engagement offered by ENACT: The Abraham Feinberg Educational Network for Active Civic Transformation and participate in events organized by the many centers at Brandeis' renowned Heller School for Social Policy and Management, including the Center for Global Development and Sustainability, the Center for Youth and Communities, the Lurie Institute for Disability Policy, and the Sillerman Center for the Advancement of Philanthropy.

Brandeis students pursue a wide range of service opportunities on- and off-campus. If you come to Brandeis with a different idea of how to contribute, we will gladly assist you in making it a reality.

“In the years that I have been at Brandeis, I have seen so many ways that Brandeis students devote themselves to the work of repairing the world. I see this in how our community values kindness, in how many hours our students devote to service and advocacy, and in how seriously students take their academics.”
